Arrests Made in 2019 Homicide Investigation

The Arlington Police Department made two arrests related to a homicide that occurred on September 2, 2019 involving robbery and marijuana which resulted in the death of Lazackahri McDaniel. The first arrest occurred on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 around 2:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Juniper Drive. Officers arrested 18-year old Shakim Parish Robinson without incident. Robinson is currently in the Arlington Jail on one count of Capital Murder.

The second arrest occurred on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 around 2 p.m. in Benbrook, Texas. 19-year old Austin Makaven Hulitt was taken into custody without incident and has been transported to the Arlington Jail on one count of Capital Murder. The arrest warrant affidavits have been included in this release.

The Arlington Police Department responded to a shooting call in the 1600 block of Pecan Chase Circle on Monday, September 2, 2019 around 10 p.m. Prior to officers arriving, the victim was transported to a local hospital via a private citizen and later pronounced deceased. Officers located a crime scene in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Investigators believe that the victim knew the suspect or suspects. Detectives have not ruled out the possibility that the victim and the suspect or suspects were engaging in high-risk activity prior to the shooting. 

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the released once next of kin have been identified. As more details become available, the department will release additional suspect information.
