5 Reasons Arlington's 2020 Aging Well Expo is a Must-Attend Event

Arlington's Aging Well Expo offers residents the opportunity to learn more about the services and programs that are available for housing, recreation, volunteerism and their overall health.

This free community event, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 19, 2020, at the Esports Stadium Arlington & Expo Center, will allow participants the chance to interact with more than 100 health professionals and to attend a variety of interesting speaker presentations on wellness that will engage and motivate adults of any age.

Here are five reasons the Aging Well Expo is a must-attend event:

Fitness Demonstrations

Interested in trying new exercises? Expo participants have a chance to check out five fitness demos, ranging from exercises that aim to improve your strength and flexibility to those that work to build your cardio health. Demos include pickleball, beginners’ line dancing, country western dancing, Zumba Gold and more. It's never too late to start a fun and fit lifestyle!

Education Sessions

The Aging Well Expo has a variety of education sessions scheduled, including presentations on joint health, improving memory, container gardening, plant-based cooking, continuing education programs, the 2020 census, cancer care services, and aging well.

Health Screenings and Info

Make health screenings a priority at this event! Participants can take advantage of numerous screenings, including skin cancer screenings and mammograms, blood sugar tests, blood pressure checks, cholesterol panel screenings, pain and stress relief, orthopedic assessments, posture and movement assessments, balance/fall risk assessment, hearing, body fat analyzer, leg and vein problem screenings and more.

Free Lunch and Prizes

You can't beat free! The first 1,000 participants who pre-registered for the event by Feb. 5, 2020, will receive a free box lunch. Participants also have the opportunity to win prizes throughout the day for attending education sessions, visiting vendor booths and completing surveys.

Free Transportation with Via Rideshare

Need a ride to the Expo? Log in to the Via rideshare app! Residents who live in the Via Rideshare service area can book a free ride to and from the Expo between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Feb. 19 using discount code AGINGWELL2020. The service area map can be found on the City’s Via rideshare webpage.
