Before Memphis and Penn State faced off Saturday in the 2019 Cotton Bowl, a winner had already been named.

The game, played at Arlington's AT&T Stadium, drew thousands of visitors to the city once again.

"The Cotton Bowl has put Arlington on the national stage each and every year," said Ron Price, President and CEO of the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau. "The majority of these great visitors are going to be from out of town."

The excitement for the game spilled over into venues outside the Stadium, including Texas Live! and the new Live! by Loews Hotel.

"It's something special that few cities in the U.S. get to experience, and we're just happy the Cotton Bowl is right here in Arlington," Price said.

Cotton Bowl Chairman Carl Ice agreed the partnership between his organization and the City has helped transform the game into one of the best in sports.

"We're thrilled to be here, being in this Stadium that's the significant place it is, something that everybody comes to marvels, has helped our game grow," Ice said.
