Registration is now open for the 2020 "Jiggle Butt Run." The women's 5K walk/run benefits Safehaven of Tarrant County, a nonprofit helping domestic abuse survivors.

The run is Jan. 25, 2020 starting at 9 a.m. The course takes participants on a loop through the UT Arlington campus. The morning begins at 7 a.m. with an expo inside the Maverick Activity Center. Warm-ups start at 8:30 a.m.

The 5K began in 2006 when three friends found $100 while out running. That discovery prompted them to start the run, which has now grown to include about 2,000 women each year.

Organizers say the run does more than just help abuse survivors. It also promotes healthy lifestyles and attitudes among women.

Registration for the 2020 run is open through race day. Awards will be given for best costume, most spirited and largest team. Walkers, strollers and pets are welcome. Registration is $35 through Jan. 24, 2020.
