Greetings from The American Dream City! Be sure to tune into the newest installment of UTA Spotlight, a weekly news update featuring broadcasting students reporting on events, projects, announcements and other key news and happenings on the University of Texas at Arlington campus and around Arlington.

This week’s stories include:

  • The Language Department recently organized a program to connect students with hearing impairment with those who can communicate using American Sign Language.
  • UTA student Michelle Carone, who knew little English after migrating to the United States from Cuba, is now double majoring in linguistics and Spanish, helps other students with their papers in the writing center, and plans to pursue a master's degree in education.

Segments run every week during the semester on Arlington’s cable channel, Spectrum Channel 16 and AT&T U-Verse channel 99.
