Weekend Buzz: 10 Events in The American Dream City for Thanksgiving Weekend 2019

1. Arlington Turkey Trot

Burn off a few calories before Thanksgiving dinner at the Arlington Turkey Trot. There is a 1-mile "Puffin for Stuffin" course along with a 5K option. The run begins and ends at Globe Life Park and takes you through Arlington's Entertainment District. The races begin at 8 a.m. You can register on-site, and the money raised benefits the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County. Click the link above for more information. 

2. Texas Christkindl Market

An Arlington tradition returns. The Texas Christkindl Market opens for the season Friday, Nov. 29 at 4 p.m.. You'll find all your favorite German-inspired stores and traditions plus an outdoor ice skating rink. The Market is open through Dec. 22, near Texas Live! Admission is free. 

3. Holiday Pop-Up Shop at Arlington Museum of Art

Shop small, support local artists and find truly one-of-a-kind gifts this weekend at the Arlington Museum of Art. The Museum is hosting a pop-up shop beginning Saturday at 10 a.m. If you can't make it out this weekend, the shop will be open through Dec. 13. You do not have to purchase a ticket to the Museum to shop the market. 

4. Pop-Up Market at Arlington Yoga Center

Arlington has so many great small businesses, you can't see them all in one day. So Arlington Yoga Center is hosting its small business pop-up Sunday from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. You'll find everything from pottery to t-shirts and organic dog treats. See a complete list of vendors at the link above.  

5. Small Business Saturday at On Tap

Don't just shop small this Saturday — drink small. On Tap, in Downtown Arlington, has partnered with local craft breweries to showcase the state's craft beer scene. The party runs from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. 

6. Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas

Get in the holiday spirit at Six Flags Over Texas. The theme park is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday for its Holiday in the Park event. You'll enjoy your favorite rides plus 2 million lights, specialty Christmas shops and a visit from Santa himself. 

7. Santa's Toy Factory at The Parks Mall

Santa is taking a break from the North Pole to stop by The Parks Mall this weekend. Your children will become official toy testers at the Toy Factory experience. Admission is free, but you will need to buy a photo package to get a picture with Santa. Click the link above for a full schedule. 

8. Cookies with the Clauses at Junior League of Arlington

Mr. and Mrs. Clause will be stopping by Junior League of Arlington Saturday night for "Cookies with the Clauses 2019." You'll have the chance to decorate cookies and play a few reindeer games. Tickets start at $5. Click the link above to learn more. 

9. Nature Walk at River Legacy Park

Enjoy the weather Saturday and burn off those extra holiday calories. River Legacy Living Science Center is hosting a nature walk at 2 p.m. Admission is free, but you're asked to call 817-860-6752 to RSVP.

10. Cowboys Watch Party at Texas Live!

If you're not spending Thanksgiving at AT&T Stadium, you can still tailgate and enjoy the game at Texas Live! The party starts two hours before kickoff at 1:30 p.m. Come watch the Cowboys beat the Bills on a 100-foot screen.
