Flooding can happen anywhere and at any time. In Texas, floods are most common in the spring and fall. Knowing what to do in a flood emergency can lesson stress and anxiety that comes with any natural disaster. Learn how to protect you, your family and your property before a flood happens by attending the Be Flood Prepared presentation on Wednesday Oct. 9 at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Branch Library, 100 S. Center St., from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the ReBrary Room. The Public Works and Transportation Department’s Stormwater Education Specialist will be providing tips on basic flood safety and preparedness.
