Greetings from The American Dream City! Be sure to tune into the newest installment of UTA Spotlight, a weekly news update featuring broadcasting students reporting on events, projects, announcements and other key news and happenings on the University of Texas at Arlington campus and around Arlington.

This week’s stories include:

  • Dr. Vijayan Pillai was recognized by the International Consortium for Social Development for his worldwide leadership and research in the social work field.
  • 848 Mitchell, one of the newest student living options near the UTA campus, is nearly 100 percent leased. The 688-bed apartment complex opened in August.
  • The International Engagement Center is hosting Global Grounds every Thursday to encourage students from all countries to meet and hang out over free cups of coffee and tea.

Segments run every week during the semester on Arlington’s cable channel, Spectrum Channel 16 and AT&T U-Verse channel 99.
