Summer is (unofficially) behind us. But that doesn't mean we're headed indoors. In this edition of Neighborhood Network News, we've created a to-do list to make the most of cooler temperatures. Plus, don't miss an amazing display of patriotism at Veterans Park.

Here's your new to-do list.

✅ Enjoy Family Day at Lake Arlington

Arlington Parks and Recreation is hosting Family Day at the Lake Friday, Sept. 6. There will be boat rides, fishing, archery and more. Admission is $5 for children under 15 years old and $10 for ages 15 and up. Click the link above to register or call 817-275-1351.

✅ Learn about water conservation

Head to River Legacy Living Science Center Saturday, Sept. 14 for a day of fun and learning. The park is hosting its 15th Water Awareness Through Education and Recreation (W.A.T.E.R.) Festival. There will be creek walks, story times and animal encounters. The festival runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and is free to everyone.

✅ Stock up on new reads

Make sure you have a good book ready for the upcoming rainy weekends and cold nights. The Friends and Foundation of the Arlington Public Library is hosting its fall book sale Sept. 18-22 at Meadowbrook Recreation Center (1400 E. Dugan St.) Click the link above for a full schedule.

✅ Visit the Field of Honor

Nearly 1,000 American flags will fill Veterans Park Sept. 7-14. The display is a thank you to all who serve, including first responders. Veterans Park is located at 3600 W. Arkansas Ln.

✅ Enjoy free live music

The Levitt Pavilion fall concert series is now underway. Head to Downtown Arlington every weekend for free shows, starting at 8 p.m. Click the link above to see the full lineup.
