The Public Works and Transportation Department’s Stormwater Education Specialist will present “Know Your Flood Risk” at the Lake Arlington Branch Library, 4000 W. Green Oaks Blvd, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd.

Most communities in the United States experience flooding. It is the most common and costly natural disaster. The City of Arlington periodically experiences flooding and residents are encouraged to understand their flood risk. This presentation will provide information on the types of flooding, natural functions of our floodplains, how to determine your flood risk and how the National Flood Insurance Program can protect your home and property from flood damage.
