1. Cowboys vs. Texans at AT&T Stadium

It's a Texas-sized showdown Saturday night at Arlington's AT&T Stadium. The Cowboys have their first preseason home game against the Houston Texans. At last check, tickets were still available, with standing room starting at $20. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. 

2. Cowboys Watch Party at Texas Live!

If you can't be at AT&T Stadium Saturday, this is the next best thing. Watch the game in the Texas Live! arena on a 100-foot screen. The party starts at 4 p.m. 

3. Arlington Public Library Open Houses 

Your library has so much to offer beyond just books, and this weekend is your chance to explore all those free services and activities. Each Arlington Public Library branch (with the exception of the Downtown location) will be holding open houses from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Each open house will offer different activities, all chosen to fit the neighborhood and community. Giveaways will be available while supplies last.

4. Sewing and Quilt Expo 

Whether you're an expert quilter or just looking to start a new hobby, this is the weekend to explore. Esports Stadium and Arena is hosting the Sewing and Quilt Expo. Come explore a new world of crafts. 

5. Mavs Special at Urban Alchemy 

It's the start of a new school year at UT Arlington, and Downtown Arlington's Urban Alchemy wants to make sure Mavs have their caffeine fix. The shop is offering a free cup of bottomless coffee and half-price appetizers Friday to students with a current school ID.

6. Live music at Tipsy Oak

Head to Downtown's Urban Union Saturday night for live music at Tipsy Oak. Ronda Ray will be performing her signature mix of country and rock. The show starts at 8 p.m.

7. Vaughan vs. Hendrix

Enjoy some rock classics Saturday at Arlington Music Hall with the sounds of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix. Two tribute bands will perform the icons' biggest hits. Tickets start at $19.

8. "Brighton Beach Memoirs" at Theatre Arlington

"Brighton Beach Memoirs" tells the story of a Jewish-American family in 1930's New York, through the eyes of a 15-year-old boy. Watch as he turns his family life into a budding writing career. There are performances Friday and Saturday night along with a Sunday matinee. Theatre Arlington is located Downtown.

9. Wings at College Park Center

The Wings are back home Sunday at UT Arlington's College Park Center. Catch the WNBA stars as they face the Atlanta Dream. 

10. Free Workout at Legal Draft

Head to Legal Draft Beer Co. Saturday morning at 11:30 for a free workout. Once you've burned some calories, hydrate with an Arlington-brewed craft beer.
