Arlington Hosting Feral Cat SundayArlington Animal Services is continuing its work to humanely control the City's feral cat population.

With help from the Maddie's Fund Foundation, Arlington will host another Feral Cat Sunday event August 25, 2019.

The first 20 feral Arlington cats brought to the Arlington Animal Services Center (1000 SE Green Oaks Blvd.) between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. will receive a free spay or neuter treatment. The cats will need to be picked up at 4 p.m.

Kittens must be at least three months old, and feral cats must be in a trap to be eligible for the free clinic. All Arlington residents are welcome to participate.

Maddie's Fund, which provides grants for animal services centers and foster care programs, says a "trap, neuter and return (TNR)" program is not only humane but also the most effective way to reduce the number of homeless cats.

The Foundation chose Arlington to receive a $5,000 grant for the City's TNR program. The initiative saves animal lives and helps achieve the City's goal to Champion Great Neighborhoods

Future Feral Cat Sunday events are scheduled for Sept. 15, Oct. 20, Nov. 17 and Dec. 15.
