Arlington included on list of hottest zip codes
Real estate tracking website Realtor.com is out with its list of the hottest ZIP codes in America, and Arlington is the only Texas city to make the list.

According to data, Arlington's 76018 neighborhood has one of the country's strongest housing markets. Realtor.com says the average home in the 76018 ZIP code spent just 20 days on the market before selling at an average price of $215,050. That is an increase of 7.5 percent year-to-year.

The 76018 ZIP code extends from I-20 to East Sublett Road and Matlock Road to SH 360. This is the first time the ZIP code has made the Realtor.com list.

The site also notes the neighborhood's appeal to millennials. 34 percent of home sales in the ZIP code came from millennial buyers. This demographic also has a higher average salary than their counterparts across the country ($64,023 compared to $62,280 nationally).

The ZIP code also has strong job growth at 1.5 percent and a low unemployment rate, at just 3.6 percent.

Arlington offers generous property tax breaks, including a 20 percent homestead exemption. The City has also lowered its property tax rate for three consecutive years to provide tax relief.

If you're interested in owning a home in The American Dream City, plan to attend Arlington's Homeownership Fair Saturday, August 10 at Esports Stadium Arlington + Expo Center from 9:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The event is a one-stop resource to make your dream of owning a home a reality.
