traffic alert

A portion of the Fielder Road bridge over Interstate 30 is expected to remain closed at least through August until the bridge, which was struck by a crane boom truck on May 20, can be repaired by the Texas Department of Transportation.

TxDOT has completed an assessment on the bridge damage and is currently devising repair plans with the goal of reopening all lanes before the start of the school year.

Drivers should be aware of these temporary closures:

Fielder Road: The inside lane of northbound Fielder Road crossing the bridge and a section of the left turn lane to get onto westbound Interstate 30 are closed. However, drivers are still able to turn left at the intersection to get onto westbound I-30.

Interstate 30: The dedicated left turn lane at the Fielder Road exit off eastbound I-30 is closed. However, drivers can still turn left to go northbound onto the Fielder Road bridge.

TxDOT and the City of Arlington appreciate your patience and encourage drivers to pay attention to all warning signs within the construction work zone while crews work diligently to complete these repairs  as quickly and safely as possible this summer.

Additionally, the City of Arlington has partnered with Waze to give drivers the best experience possible to get around town. Drivers can download Waze for free at www.waze.com/get for iOS and Android and see real-time traffic, find optimal routes, avoid road closures and more.
