Commuters who travel through the State Highway 360 and Mayfield Road intersection in Arlington should be aware of scheduled lane closures later this month that are necessary as part the Texas Department of Transportation's SH 360 Widening Project.

The reconstruction of a section of the SH 360 bridge over Mayfield Road will require daytime closures of all westbound and eastbound Mayfield Road lanes near the highway between Monday, August 13 and Thursday, August 30, weather permitting. The work will also affect the southbound and northbound U-turn turnaround lanes at the Mayfield Road and SH 360 intersection at times.

Various lane closures will be in place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. during the bridge construction. Digital message boards with information about specific closures will be placed at all frontage road and Mayfield Road approaches to the Mayfield/SH 360 intersection at least one week in advance of the work.

TxDOT began the State Highway 360 widening project between Abram Street and Kingswood Boulevard/Green Oaks Boulevard in Arlington in June of this year. The $53 million project will add an additional north and southbound main lane, rebuild the Abram Street bridge over SH 360 and rebuild various exit and entrance ramps. This project will also widen the 5.4-mile section of main lanes from three lanes to four lanes in each direction.
