Drinking Water Week

Arlington Water Utilities is teaming up with River Legacy Living Science Center and the Arlington Public Library to celebrate Drinking Water Week, starting on Saturday, May 6.

The American Water Works Association and its members across the country have celebrated Drinking Water Week for more than 40 years as a way to highlight the value of water in our daily lives. Arlington Water, a public utility, delivers billions of gallons of safe, high quality water to residents and visitors each year.

During Drinking Water Week, Arlington residents can participate during the following events:

  • Follow the H20 with River Legacy Living Science Center at the East Main Street Arts Festival in Downtown Arlington from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 6. Take part in a kids' activity and get information on how Arlington Water brings billions of gallons of water to homes and businesses each year.
  • Then, head to River Legacy Living Science Center between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. during the week to exchange your old shower head for a free water-efficient shower head provided by Arlington Water Utilities. You can also exchange shower heads at River Legacy's FREE Summer Class Preview, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 12. Limited supply.
  • Visit the Arlington Public Library at the Courtyard Celebration from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 13 at the East Arlington Branch Library, 1624 New York Avenue. Learn more about how to make simple changes to reduce your water bill and pick up a free water-efficient shower when you trade in your old one, while supplies last.
