Red Kettle Challenge

Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams andmembers of City Councilwill be ringing the red bell Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Walmart on Randol Mill for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Challenge. Mayor Williams will be ringing the bell from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The challenge started in 2009 and allows mayors from Arlington, Mansfield, Dalworthington Gardens, Pantego, and Kennedale to compete in raising funds for the Salvation Army.

Last year, Mansfield took home the trophy, raising over $18,000. 2011 was the last year Arlington won the challenge, raising over $13,000. This year's challenge is far from over, but Arlington is currently in the lead with $10,150.46 to date. The Salvation Army also recognizes the mayor who raises the most money per capita.

Salvation Army Youth Education Town North Texas Corp Officer Patrick Jones said the challenge supports the organization throughout the entire year, not just around the holidays.
