City To Host Inaugural Homeownership Fair in June

Considering becoming a homebuyer in the American Dream City? The City of Arlington is hosting its inaugural Homeownership Fair this summer to connect prospective homeowners with services and programs designed to make their quality, affordable housing dreams come true.

The Homeownership Fair will feature more than 40 exhibitors, including mortgage lenders, real estate companies, non-profit housing agencies, title companies, appraisers, home inspectors, home improvement stores, state and federal agencies and City of Arlington personnel.

The fair, open to all residents, is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the Arlington Convention Center, 1200 Ballpark Way. Online Pre-registration begins May 15 at www.arlingtontx.gov/homeownershipfair.

Organizers say the purpose of the fair is to enable households to invest in their future, bring a sense of community and stabilization to neighborhoods, and promote a healthy living environment while building strong communities.

"This is an important event that will advance the City's Council Priority to Champion Great Neighborhoods by encouraging residents and prospective homebuyers to achieve their dream of homeownership in the American Dream City," Deputy City Manager Jim Parajon said.

In order to support this event, the city is seeking sponsorships from businesses, stakeholders and other industry professionals looking to reach prospective homebuyers and current residents within the City of Arlington.
