"Dream Builders" is a show on MyArlingtonTV that highlights the ways our community is helping kids dream big, nurture their creativity, polish their skills and develop the tools they need to achieve their American Dream as young adults.

The latest episode focuses on the H.O.P.E. Tutoring Center, which has served more than 1,800 students at six tutoring sites in Arlington since 1996.

When the doors open at H.O.P.E. Tutoring sites on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, tutors are in place and ready to go. And the students are too.

H.O.P.E. Tutoring is a free program designed to support academic success for children in grades 3 through 8. Trained volunteer tutors work one-on-one with the students throughout the school year, allowing the relationships between students and tutors to truly blossom, according to H.O.P.E. Tutoring Site manager Debra Reynolds.

"We see children that come in here and they're quiet and maybe they don't care about school any more," Reynolds said. "But after a few sessions, they're animated, they look forward to being here, they want to know where their tutor is. We're very blessed to have tutors that engage and they want their students to success."
