President/CEO: Jan. 11, 2016

Ambassadors for Aging, an-all volunteer group which meets two times each month to discuss issues of interest to older Arlington residents, will host The Senior Voice Newspaper President/CEO Bob Bowsher at their meeting on Monday, January 11, 2016.

The event will take place at the Tarrant County Sub-Courthouse (700 E. Abram St., Arlington, TX 76010) from 1-3 p.m.

Bob Bowsher says he will discussing The Senior Voice Newspaper at the meeting, which has been in publication for 14 years and provides a platform where experts on aging can exchange information and guidance on current trends and available resources.

"We want to know what's happening in these communities and we want seniors in Arlington to be aware of the newspaper, events and activities available for seniors throughout the region," said Bowsher.

The Senior Voice Newspaper provides resources to seniors for specific areas in Texas, including Dallas, Denton, Collin, Rockwall and Tarrant Counties. Bowsher says the goal is to eventually expand the paper to reach seniors throughout the state.

AFA is an inclusive group and it is totally free to attend the meetings/events. The group, formerly known as "Age-Friendly Arlington," was organized in 2014 to learn from each other, and to bring issues forward to city leaders and the public at large which are important to elders and emerging elders.

No membership fee is charged. Members focus on community and civic participation, housing, transportation, and health and social services.
