MyArlingtonTV is taking a trip across The American Dream City to showcase some of the diverse musical acts happening in Arlington's schools, restaurants, churches and neighborhoods.

Hosted by Tika Cook, "Backstage Arlington" will highlight some of the different music acts and performing venues that exist in Arlington. The first episode features Legacy 4, a Fort Worth based band performing classic R&B and Motown hits.

The group is a hit with Arlington residents, frequently performing at the Grease Monkey Burger Shop and Social Club in Downtown Arlington. In fact, Grease Monkey is constantly hosting groups and solo artists throughout the year, with a calendar of events posted on the venue's website.

In the future, "Backstage Arlington" will not only focus on multiple venues where music is happening in the city, but will also inform our residents about the different styles of music available in the community.

Residents can find rock n' roll, jazz, R&B, country, gospel, pop, orchestral music, theatrical musicals and much more throughout Arlington and this show will allow the city to find the personal stories behind the music.

The City's Office of Communication develops programming for MyArlingtonTV. Viewers can find MyArlingtonTV programs on the following cable systems: Time Warner Channel 16 and AT&T U-Verse channel 99, and streaming capabilities at www.arlington-tx.gov.

All episodes are also available on the City's YouTube channel, Facebook page and Twitter account.
