Beautify Your Yard with Water Conserving Plants

Searching for the best plant candidates for your landscape?

This spring, Texas SmartScape plants hope to win your vote. These plants are native or adapted to North Central Texas, so they can thrive-come rain or shine-with little to no pesticides or fertilizers and less water. This means you can save money and still have a beautiful yard. Some of these plants also attract birds, bees, and butterflies.

Come to one of the plant sales hosted by member cities of the Texas SmartScape program and participating retailers to get a deal on select Texas SmartScape plants. You can also get ideas and tips for landscaping by talking with a master gardener, plant expert, or irrigation specialist. Most locations will have fun events for kids too!

There will be 22 events across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex from March through May. Find out about event locations and times, plants for sale, and more.

The Arlington plant sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 14 at Home Depot, 201 Road to Six Flags.

The Arlington event will include education booths from Tarrant County Master Gardeners, the City of Arlington Public Works Department and other vendors. Home Depot will have kids workshops, demonstrations and specific Texas SmartScape plants for sale.
