Construction on the $340 million SH 360 South design-build project is approaching completion of its second year of construction and is on track for completion next spring.

The SH 360 South Project is being built in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) and the North Central Texas Council of Governments and local cities and counties to improve mobility, enhance safety and connect communities. Once complete, the toll road will be operated by NTTA.

The 9.7-mile project, which began in fall 2015, stretches from Green Oaks Boulevard in Arlington to US 287. The project will improve mobility throughout the rapidly developing corridor in addition to improving traffic flow for local businesses and residents along the SH 360 frontage roads.

Project updates:

  • The Webb Lynn Road/Lynn Creek Parkway bridge opened in May.
  • The Broad Street bridge opened in June.
  • The Sublett Road/Camp Wisdom Road bridge at the north end of the project is under construction and is expected to open this winter.
  • New York Avenue, which will go under the new SH 360 main lanes, will have two lanes in each direction, sidewalks and Texas turnarounds.
  • The Debbie Lane/Ragland Road bridge is anticipated to open late this summer.
  • The Walnut Creek bridge on SH 360 is the longest bridge of the project at 2,400 feet.
  • The Holland Road bridge is expected to open in spring 2018.
  • The Heritage Parkway bridge is expected to open this summer.
  • Lone Star Road will go under new main lanes of SH 360.
  • US 287 main lanes will go over the new SH 360 frontage road, meaning drivers on US 287 will no longer have a traffic signal at the SH 360 intersection. New frontage roads on US 287 will allow traffic from SH 360 to safely enter the highway.

This project aligns with the Arlington City Council’s priority to Enhance Regional Mobility.
