Green Oaks School has a brilliant program for their students, benefiting the animals of Arlington Animal Services (AAS) and the community.

Adult Learning Teacher with Green Oaks School, Rachel Shaw says "the interaction with the shelter Pets of the Week and the interaction with staff has been wonderful for the students'.

Students Nicholas and Erica look forward to volunteering twice a week at the AAS center and being responsible for their duties. They enjoy cleaning the windows, socializing the pets, helping clean equipment for the kennels, and more. Their favorite part of visiting the shelter is interacting with the Pets of the Week.

Green Oaks School is for students with Down syndrome and similar developmental delays. These students dedicated to volunteering, show everyone that they can do anything they set their minds to doing. It's a fulfilling experience for students which provides special attention to shelter animals at the same time.
