Hello! My name is Lexie, and I am the chosen Dog of the Week for the Arlington Animal Services' Center (ASC). One day I decided it would be fun to take myself for a walk, but then I found out it wasn't as fun as I thought. I was lost in the big city! A nice person found me and brought me to the ASC to be cared for until my owners found me. They must not be familiar with " hide and seek" because they have not come for me! Luckily though, I was chosen to be Dog of the Week and they say I'm going to be famous because I will be on the City's Website! I'm not too sure what that means, but it sure sounds exciting. When I heard about this " famous" stuff, I decided I wanted to show off all my special talents to everyone at the shelter. I was taken outside to play, and it made me so happy! I enjoyed running around a lot! A nice lady had treats, and after I finished my exercise routine, she asked me to " sit" . I was not too sure what she meant by that, but I caught on real quick. Oh, and I found that if I listened like a good girl, I got more treats! Funny how us dogs can train humans to do that! After I spent the day training my volunteers, it occurred to me that I like training humans. I also like running, too. So I'm thinking a good size backyard with owners who like to give treats would be really nice for my new forever home. Do you have a big yard? How about treats? If you do, you should come to meet me today! By the way, just so you know, I'm a pretty, young female Labrador Retriever mix. Shelter employees estimate me to be about a year old, and say that I should be a medium-sized dog since I only weigh around 32 pounds. When you come to visit, tell the front desk you are looking for me! I'm in kennel DD502 and give them my personal ID number 20292127. My adoption fees include all my core vaccinations, spay at the veterinarian clinic (conveniently located at the ASC), my city license, a micro-chip and 30 days of free pet insurance. I look forward to meeting you!
