Pet Angel Tree Makes Holiday Debut

What: Donation drive to benefit Arlington Animal Shelter Pets

When: Month of December 2011

Where: Arlington Animal Services, 1000 S.E. Green Oaks Blvd.

Arlington Animal Services (AAS), in conjunction with PAAS, announces a way to make the holidays brighter for sheltered pets. The first annual Pet Angel Tree event is a chance to help make animal shelter pets a little more comfortable until they find a home.

Preferred Donation Items:

For Cats: Capstar Flea Treatment, bandannas, 16 ounce no-tip stainless steel bowls, canned kitten and/or cat food (Pate style), small plastic litter boxes (dish pans also make ideal litter boxes), cat toys mice, balls, crinkly balls, lingerie laundry bags, cardboard scratching posts, interactive ring toys, and fleece blankets.

For Dogs: collars, leashes, bandannas, 2-quart stainless steel bowls, Thunder Shirts, canned dog and/or puppy food (Pate style), Kongs (any size), creamy peanut butter, durable chew toys (none with stuffing), rope toys, Nylabones, and Capstar Flea Treatment.

For Cats & Dogs: wash rags, dish towels, bleach, paper towels, Dawn Dish soap, dishwasher soap, Petsmart gift cards (designate Pet Angel Tree), Walmart gift card (designate Pet Angel Tree), and monetary donations (designate Pet Angel Tree).
Donations may be made by mail or in person at Arlington Animal Services located at 1000 S.E. Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington, TX 76018.

PAAS is a volunteer-based social networking group who partners with the Arlington Animal Services staff to assist in reducing the shelter's euthanasia rate. The PAAS Facebook page was created to give the animals at the AAS a more broad exposure to pet fosters, adopters, and rescuers via social media.
