The beautiful new College Football Playoff National Championship trophy made a grand appearance at AT&T Stadium in Arlington Friday morning - but it won 't be its last.

Look for the 2-foot-tall, gold, football-shaped trophy to be the center of attention Saturday night when the Florida State Seminoles, defending national champs and preseason No. 1, take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Advocare Cowboys Classic at AT&T Stadium.

The final appearance will be Jan. 12 in Arlington, when a national champion is crowned at the conclusion of the inaugural College Football Playoff National Championship game.

While crews were still preparing the field for the Florida State-Oklahoma State game, Bill Hancock, Executive Director of the College Football Playoff, announced there will be three fan events associated with the big game.

Playoff Fan Central will be a fan event at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas Jan. 9-11. The 500,000-square foot venue will feature a full-scale 100-yard football field and fans will be able to attend the game 's media day.

Playoff Playlist Live! will be a multi-day concert series at American Airlines Center. Organizers said acts will be announced in October and tickets will be below market price.

The Championship Tailgate, which is for ticket holders, will be held outside AT&T Stadium in Arlington before Monday 's game. Live music and other events are scheduled.
