Now’s Your Chance to Serve on a Board or Commission

The City of Arlington is accepting applications for interested residents who would like to serve on a Board or Commission.

Members of boards and commissions assist the Mayor and City Council by making recommendations on general policy matters impacting the city. Most boards and commissions function in advisory capacities and some have final decision-making authority. Some may require specialized training and licenses.

The following 18 boards/commissions have vacancies:

  • Animal Service Center Advisory Board
  • Arlington Higher Education Finance Corporation
  • Building Code Board of Appeals
  • Citizens Environmental Committee
  • Community Relations Commission
  • Convention & Visitors Bureau Board of Directors
  • Electrical Board
  • Ethics Review Commission
  • Housing Authority
  • Landmark Preservation Commission
  • Library Board
  • License and Amortization Appeal Board
  • Mechanical and Plumbing Code Board of Appeals
  • North Texas Higher Education Authority
  • Park and Recreation Board
  • Planning and Zoning Commission
  • Teen Court Advisory Board
  • Zoning Board of Adjustment

Application deadline is Friday, April 28

Interested applicants can apply online or visit the Office of the Mayor and Council on the third floor of City Hall at 101 W. Abram St.
