The Arlington Police Department is pleased to release the 2017 Annual Report highlighting the many contributions that the men and women of the department undertake each and every day. Inside the report, citizens can read about the collective accomplishments and department highlights from last year. The comprehensive report contains sections on top honors, programs, and departmental units. Performance metrics and staffing are also included in the report.

Some of the highlights include:

  • 12,078 arrests with 1,248 arrested persons charged with Driving While Intoxicated
  • The Traffic Unit conducted 117 Watch Ur Bac educational sessions to inform teens on the dangers of drinking and driving
  • The department responded to 132,156 calls for service
  • he Media Office reached more than 42 million people through social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube
  • Violent crime fell 6.1 percent as compared to 2016
  • Overall crime was statistically flat when comparing 2016 to 2017, however overall crime is down 31 percent comparing 2010 to 2017
  • Property crime rose 1.26 percent as compared to 2016

"On behalf of Team APD, our Annual Report highlights the accomplishments that we as a community achieved in 2017," said Police Chief Will Johnson. "Collectively as a team, we will continue to focus on illegal guns, drugs, and known offenders. Our organization is strong and the community supports our team like no other in the country."
