Champions Park
Champions Park will be located at the northeast corner of I-30 in Arlington.

Construction for the first phase of the $30 million Champions Park development is well underway, pointing to a January 2017 opening for residents and visitors to explore in The American Dream City.

The 54,000-square-foot complex from Greenway Investment Co. will feature four restaurant/retail buildings at the northeast corner of Interstate 30 and North Collins Street in the Entertainment District.

Several restaurants have signed leases so far, offering residents and visitors a mix of fast-casual and sit-down restaurants. The restaurant pads will be nestled into a half-acre festival park area.

According to Greenway Vice President Christy Hammons, Torchy's Tacos, Cowboys Nail Lounge, Firehouse Subs, the area's first BurgerFi, Tokyo Joe's, Urban Bricks Pizza (which will have a roof top patio), Salata, Yumilicious, The Social House and Tiff's Treats will all be part of the first phase of Champions Park development.

The first phase will have a 70-30 mix of restaurants and retail. Phase two is still in the early planning stages.

"We are currently working two pad site ground leases for full service sit down restaurants, plus we have several letters of intent working on the inline retail spaces," Hammons said. "The first restaurant to open will be Tokyo Joe's in early December. We are excited for our grand opening 1st quarter of 2017, and have begun planning events in the central park area."

Champions Park broke ground in December 2015 and is part of the Arlington City Council's priority to "Invest in Our Economy," which Council has identified as a component of the effort to ensure that the Arlington community continues to thrive.
