Holiday Lights Parade: Sat. Dec. 3

Get ready to turn on the lights in The American Dream City! Arlington's annual Holiday Lights Parade is Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 6 p.m. The fun all starts hours before the parade at 2 p.m., with live entertainment, food, and vendors in Downtown. Then the parade begins at 6 at the corner of S Center St. and E Main St. and ends at the corner of E Abram St. and S East St. The tree lighting, at 7:15 in front of City Hall, follows the parade. Mayor Jeff Williams, along with Santa Claus, has flip-the-switch honors to light the 50 foot blue spruce. Pictures with Santa will also follow from 7:15 to 8 at the Levitt Pavilion. Immediately after the parade, at 7:15, the movie Elf starring Will Ferrell will be shown on the lawn.

6th Annual Texas Christkindl Market

Inspired by the traditional Christmas market of Arlington's sister city Bad Königshofen, Germany, the 6thAnnual Texas Christkindl Market re-opened for business this year on Black Friday at Globe Life Park and continues through Dec. 23, 2016. Regular shopping hours will resume as follows: Monday - Friday, Noon to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 7 p.m.

Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, transforms into the epitome of a holiday extravaganza. On select dates from November 19 through January 2, 2017, favorite attractions such as SantaLand, the Holiday Tree of Trees Light Spectacular, Frosty Snowhill and more await guests during this magical time of year. For over 30 years, Holiday in the Park has spread joy to families from all over the state and surrounding areas. New this year to Holiday in the Park- Deep in the Heart of Christmas! Guests can enjoy the Boomtown section of the park that has undergone a complete makeover and has been transformed into a Texas-sized winter wonderland.

Arlington Music Hall's Christmaspectacular!

With the holidays in full swing, Arlington Music Hall invites residents and visitors to be among the first to experience the newest Christmas show in the DFW Metroplex - Christmaspectacular!, which opens Friday, Dec. 2 and continues through Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016. Showcasing sensational singers, dynamic dancers, charming children, a kick-line of lovely young ladies, colorful costumes, sparkling special effects and a visit from Santa himself, each segment of the presentation brings to life memory-making moments that will last a lifetime. Residents and visitors can purchase tickets for this holiday show on the Arlington Music Hall website or call the box office at 817-226-4400.

Olde Town Christmas is Dec. 2 & 3rd

This annual craft fair is always a joyous occasion for the whole family. Browse the variety of vendors to find a gift to make your Christmas memorable. Taste homemade goodies and concessions, and on Saturday, Dec. 3, Santa will be there for photo opportunities. This year will also feature an Elf Workshop for kids on Saturday. Parents will be able to drop kids off at the Elf Workshop, where they will create festive crafts, and go shopping.

Final Day, Final Round "Toys for TOTS" Invitational

Arlington Golf is hosting a Final Day, Final Round "Toys for TOTS" Invitational this Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. It's the last call to play at Chester Ditto before the course closes on December 5, 2016 for course renovations. The new golf course is slated to re-open late Fall 2017.

  • Format: 2-Person Scramble, flighted
  • Entry Fee: $30/person
  • Entry Includes: green fee, cart, range balls, lunch and prizes

All participants are also encouraged to drop-off a children's toy (kids ages 2-8) in celebration of the holiday season. Toys will be donated to an Arlington family in need. 2016 Grease For Greens at Tierra Verde Golf Club

Eco-Man and Arlington Water Utilities want to remind residents to prevent backed-up sanitary sewers and clogged pipes by properly disposing of fats, oils and grease. A great way to do this that also benefits the city is to bring your used cooking oil* to Grease for Greens at Tierra Verde Golf Club, 7005 Golf Club Dr. Arlington, TX 76001 from 8 AM - 12 PM on December 3rd! They will use your cooking oil* to make biodiesel to fuel our lawnmowers and you have a chance to win a free round of golf! (You do not have to be present to win. Drawings every hour, winners will be notified by phone/email).

A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley at Theatre Arlington

As the calendar turns to December, residents and visitors are invited to check out a holiday classic at Theatre Arlington in Downtown with the opening of A Christmas Carol: Scrooge & Marley! The show opens Friday, December 2 and runs through December 18, 2016 at Theatre Arlington, located at 305 W. Main St. Arlington, TX 76010. Ticket prices are $23 for adults, $21 for seniors (62+) and students with valid ID and $18.50 for groups of 10 or more people. Pablo Picasso: Ceramics Exhibit at Arlington Museum of Art

The Arlington Museum of Art in Downtown proudly announces its winter blockbuster exhibit, Pablo Picasso: Ceramics, featuring more than 40 ceramics by renowned artist Pablo Picasso. The exhibit will be on display from November 12, 2016 through February 12, 2017. An opening reception for exhibit sponsors, museum members, and special guests will be held Friday, November 11, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. For more information, visit ArlingtonMuseum.org. Adventure to Santa at The Parks at Arlington

Adventure to Santa, a storytelling experience designed by Dreamworks Animation, returns to The American Dream City this holiday season at The Parks at Arlington! The all-new attraction lets you and your family join Po and Friends from Kung Fu Panda for interactive games and an immersive, cinematic journey that transports guests to the North Pole for your private meeting with Santa.
