Library-Volunteers

Volunteer opportunities are now available for the move into the new Downtown Library! The Arlington Public Library is searching for enthusiastic volunteers to help unpack and shelve books between May 17 and 27. Click here to see available shifts and to sign up online.

Together with Library staff, volunteers will help move the collection into the new Downtown Library. The new building will feature books, DVDs, toys, music, audiobooks and other items on three floors-and all this needs to be unpacked and put away! Volunteers will work in groups, supervised by Library staff, to fill the shelves.

Volunteers shifts are available daily from May 17 to 27, in two or three-hour time slots between 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

New volunteers can get a head start by applying to volunteer with the Library online. Click here to start the Library's volunteer process. After the Downtown Library project is done, approved volunteers can stay part of the story by continuing to volunteer! There will be volunteer opportunities in the new building, as well as the chance to volunteer at events or in Library branches.

Photography will not be permitted during this project.
