Arlington Housing Authority to Accept Applications for Housing Choice Voucher Program

The Housing Authority of the City of Arlington (AHA) will accept applications from persons interested in participating in its Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program.

Applications will be accepted during the Open Enrollment period, which runs from'9 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016, through 9 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Applications will be retained until the next open enrollment. Current applicants must re-apply during Open Enrollment to be considered.

The AHA will only accept online applications which can be accessed at www.arlingtonhousing.us. Applicants are welcome to use computers at any branch of the Arlington Public Library or a kiosk at the AHA office located at 501 W. Sanford, Suite 20, Arlington TX, 76011. Applicants with physical disability needing assistance to apply may contact the AHA during the Open Enrollment period at 817-276-6722.

To apply, applicants must have an active email account. Applicants in need of an email address may register for a free email account through an internet provider of their choice. To ensure the application process is accessible, equitable, and available to all, applications received will be randomly assigned a position on the waiting list. Time and date of application will not be used to establish an applicant's position on the waiting list. Application status and information regarding placement on the waiting list will be available online after August 22, 2016.

The HCV program is a rental housing assistance program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The program assists very low income persons, families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities to reside in safe, decent, rental housing they can afford.
