Advocates for Special People, Inc 15th Annual Bowling Tournament

Advocates for Special People, Inc in Arlington will host its 15th Annual Bowling Tournament this Saturday, August 29, 2015 at AMF Spare Time Lanes on South Cooper Street. The event kicks off at 1 p.m. and runs until 5 p.m. with registration taking place from 12-12:30 p.m. There will also be a silent auction, raffle, and 50/50. The silent auction and ticket sales for the raffle will begin at 12:15. The money raised will help support the purchase of uniforms, equipment, training and travel expenses for Special Olympic athletes. This event has it all. Fun, food, raffles, and bowling, all for a great cause.

Arlington, TX Firefighter Challenge Presented by Spartan Emergency Response

Come out and support the Arlington Fire Department's Combat Challenge Team this weekend at Globe Life Park! The Firefighter Combat Challenge annually attracts hundreds of U.S. and Canadian municipal fire departments at more than 25 locations and is now expanding to countries around the world, including New Zealand, Germany, Argentina, Chile, and South Africa. This event seeks to encourage firefighter fitness and demonstrate the profession's rigors to the public. Competitor check-in begins at noon on Saturday, August 29 and at 8 a.m. on Sunday, August 30. Individual and team competition takes place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, while the relay and tandem competition is at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Ringside: Memories of World Class Championship Wrestling Exhibit

The wrestlers. Their extravagant costumes. Overly exuberant fans yelling for their favorites. The referee who wasn't entirely necessary. The old-time arenas that smelled of sweat. Ringside: Memories of World Class Championship Wrestling showcases more than 30 photos taken by Cirrus Bonneau, who spent Monday nights in 1982 and 1983 at the Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth documenting the interplay between the costumed stars and their captivated audiences. The exhibit is free to the public and runs through Jan. 16 at the UT Arlington Central Library, 702 Planetarium Place. Call UTA Libraries Special Collections at 817-272-3393 for more information.

KANSAS at Arlington Music Hall

KANSAS has spent more than four decades as a part of the soundtrack of the lives of multiple generations of music lovers. The legendary band will be performing in Downtown at Arlington Music Hall this Friday, August 28 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased on Arlington Music Hall's website or you can call the box office at 817-226-4400. KANSAS has produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-Platinum albums and a million-selling gold single, 'Dust in the Wind.'
