Arlington Public Library is starting its Second Saturday Storytime series with a special event for children just entering school for the first time. Southeast Branch Library, 900 SE Green Oaks Blvd., will host a Kindergarten Kickoff Storytime on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

The event will celebrate Kindergarten as the adventure it is, through books, songs and rhymes. All children in attendance are invited to bring their backpacks for a special Backpack Parade. This also a great opportunity for new kindergartners to sign up for their very own library cards! This program is geared to kindergarten age children, but friends and siblings of other ages are also welcome.

Arlington Public Library's Second Saturday Storytime series will be happening once a month at Southeast Branch Library from September 2015 to April 2016, with the exception of December. The public library also offers 19 other storytimes a week for babies up to preschool age.
