Beat the Heat with Kid-Friendly Movies on a Budget in Arlington

Looking for a fun way to escape the summer heat? These theatres in Arlington are offering family-friendly movies for cheap!

Studio Movie Grill, which has locations in the Arlington Highlands and the Lincoln Square shopping centers, is hosting its Children's Summer from now through August 31.

The $1 Children's Summer Series offers a new movie each week, including favorites such as Boss Baby, Puss in Boots and Captain Underpants. Click here for movie information.

The Movie Tavern in south Arlington is also hosting its Summer Kids' Flick from June 5 through August 9. As part of this program, a Summer Kids' Flick will be available every Tuesday and Thursday. Options include Kung Fu Panda 3, The Lego Movie and Home. Only $4 at the box office will get you into the movie and give you a $4 credit toward any food and drinks. AMC Theatre at the Parks Mall in Arlington is also offering affordable admission to a kid-friendly movie and a KidsPack for just $4 every Wednesday at 10 a.m. all summer long. Options include Trolls, Despicable Me 3 and Paddington 2. Movie information will be available on AMC Theatre's Summer Movie Camp webpage.

That's not all. Levitt Pavilion Arlington in Downtown is hosting children's movies every Thursday starting with a Sing-a-Long Frozen showing at 8 p.m. on June 7. Movies at the Levitt Pavilion is a free, family-friendly event on the lawn of Founders Plaza. Other upcoming shows include Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
