Top 10 Requests Made Using City’s New Ask Arlington App

The City of Arlington, working together with its residents, has addressed more than 11,000 concerns, ranging from overgrown and debris-filled lawns to dilapidated fences, since launching the free Ask Arlington app in January.

The app, available for Android and Apple devices and on the City's website, allows users to report common code complaints to the City of Arlington or request services, such as help locating a water or sewer line. The Ask Arlington app is designed to be a convenient alternative to the Action Center hotline, 817-459-6777, which receives more than 350,000 calls a year.

So far, nearly 4,650 people have downloaded the Ask Arlington app. Since January, the top 10 reported issues and requests are:

  1. Locate a Water or Sewer Line
  2. Unkempt Property
  3. Overgrown Weeds and Grass
  4. Nuisance Vehicle
  5. Streetlight Burned Out
  6. Loose Animal
  7. Parking in the Yard
  8. Dead Animal
  9. Barking Dog
  10. Dilapidated Fence

Users can upload photos and videos to provide City departments with more information about the issue they are reporting. The Ask Arlington app also allows users to track the real-time progress of how their complaint is being handled, such as whether a notice of violation was issued.

In June, the City of Arlington added another feature to the Ask Arlington app. Residents are now able to share stories, photos and videos of acts of kindness occurring in the community. Arlington has set a goal of recording 400,000 acts of kindness through the app over the next year as part of the 'Experience the Kindness of Our Dream City' campaign.
