1. Food Truck Friday Dinner Series

Join Arlington Parks and Recreation this Friday, October 5 between 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. for Food Truck Dinners at Stovall Park, 2800 W. Sublett Road. Each week we will feature a new lineup of food trucks for you to try. Then starting October 12, join us for Food Truck Lunches between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Levitt Pavilion, 100 W. Abram St. The lunch series runs every Friday from October 12-November 2. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets to the food truck events, as seating is limited.

2. Levitt Pavilion Arlington's Free Fall Concert Season

Happy 10th birthday, Levitt Pavilion Arlington! In a decade-long tradition that has yet to be broken, Levitt Pavilion Arlington continues its fall season of free concerts this Friday night at 8 p.m. with The Quebe Sisters. The weekend continues at 8 p.m. with JB & the Moonshine Band on Saturday, October 6. Cirque Zuma Zuma comes to town on Sunday at 8 p.m. This exhilarating African experience is performed by talented young artists from 16 African nations. All concerts are free and family friendly this season except for Barenaked Ladies, which requires a ticket purchase. 3. Fright Fest at Six Flags Over Texas

Fright Fest, presented by SNICKERS®, is back for select days through October 31, 2018 at Six Flags Over Texas in The American Dream City. The park will also be open this weekend for guests to enjoy their favorite coasters and attractions, including the ultimate Super-Villain thrill ride-HARLEY QUINN Spinsanity. The park's operating hours are from 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. 4. 9 to 5 the Musical at Theatre Arlington

Set in the late 1970s, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic. The show runs through Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Theatre Arlington in Downtown. Appropriate for audiences ages 13 and up.

  • Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

5. The Bellamy Brothers at Arlington Music Hall

Howard and David Bellamy continue to prove that the trail they've ridden to fame has been as unique as their music itself-music that is now celebrating 40 years of success. The road that started on the pop music charts in the "70's, took a winding turn into country music in the "80's, paving the way for duos to come. The Bellamy Brothers will perform at Arlington Music Hall in Downtown this Saturday, October 6 at 7:30 p.m. Residents and visitors can purchase tickets online or call the box office at 817-226-4400.

6. Taylor Swift at AT&T Stadium

Ten-time GRAMMY winner, Taylor Swift, announced that due to overwhelming demand, a second AT&T Stadium show has been added on Friday, October 5, 2018 for her reputation Stadium Tour. Tickets for the shows on Friday, October 5 and Saturday, October 6 with special guests, Camila Cabello & CharliXCX are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com.

7. Chalk the Walk Art Contest

Join The Friends of O. S. Gray Natural Area for the Chalk the Walk sidewalk chalk art contest from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 6. The Chalk the Walk competition is open to artists of all ages, intending to encourage members of the community to get outside and enjoy one of Arlington's great outdoor treasures. Registered participants will receive one box of chalk and a sidewalk square to create a beautiful piece of artwork for the chance to win a cash prize. The theme of the contest is "What I love about nature." The art contest is $15 per family with children up to 8 years old, $15 per team (any age, up to 5 people), $10 for individuals who are 18 and older, $10 for individuals ages 13 to 18, and $5 for ages 9 to 12.

8. River Legacy Foundation's After Dark in the Park Festival

Enjoy fall fun for the whole family at River Legacy Foundation's 22nd annual After Dark in the Park from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Oct. 5-7. This family-friendly fall festival and fundraiser featuring bounce houses, temporary tattoos, photo booth, pumpkin patch, balloon artists and a variety of unique games, crafts and activities is geared for children ages 2 to 10.

  • Time: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 5-7 (No entry after 8:30 p.m.)
  • Location: River Legacy Living Science Center, 703 NW Green Oaks Blvd.
  • Parking: Park at River Legacy Park, 701 NW Green Oaks Blvd. and then catch a free hayride shuttle to the event entrance.

9. Live Music at Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club

Head over to Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club in Downtown Arlington for live music this weekend. On Friday, October 5, 57 Sauce, a hometown band that started up in 2012, will perform at 9 p.m. Legacy 4 takes the stage at 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 6. Audiences can expect to hear some of the greatest hits in both R&B and Motown. Grease Monkey is located at 200 N Mesquite St, Arlington, TX 76011.

10. Live Music at J.R. Bentley's

Check out live music with Ben Martinec this Friday, October 5, 2018 at J.R. Bentley's in Downtown Arlington. The show starts at 8 p.m. On Saturday, the Jax Bros. will perform at 8 p.m. Situated in a historic home, J.R. Bentley's has the feel of an authentic English pub and features several local and area bands throughout the year. The venue is located at 406 W Abram St, Arlington, TX 76010.
