Enhance Regional Mobility

From autonomous vehicles to high speed rail, the City of Arlington is interested in transportation solutions that could make streets safer and less congested.

Last month, Arlington was named among select Texas communities chosen as a national test site for the research and development of self-driving vehicles.

The U.S. Department of Transportation named Texas a national Automated Vehicle (AV) Proving Ground for the testing of connected and automated vehicle technologies. The designation establishes the state as a leader in the research and development of new transportation technologies that could make roads safer and less congested.

High speed rail could also be in the city and DFW region's future.

Recently, the North Central Council of Governments (NCTCOG) announced that a team led by WSP | PB will conduct the high speed rail station area planning study for Arlington.

You can about these projects and more in the latest edition of the Enhance Regional Mobility newsletter.
