A section of Mesquite Street in downtown Arlington is set to be closed temporarily this weekend.

As part of ongoing work on the 101 Center development project, the one-way street will be closed between Border and Front streets from 7 p.m. Friday, February 17 until 6 a.m. Saturday, February 18.

The City of Arlington will install Digital Message Signs (DMS) regarding the closure and the contractor will notify affected businesses.

Drivers can take West Street, Cooper Street or Collins Street as alternative routes through downtown. The existing road closures on Abram, Mesquite, Main and Pecan streets related to construction of 101 Center and the Downtown Library projects remain in effect.

One eastbound lane on Abram Street remains open to drivers traveling east of Arlington City Hall.
