Feral-Cat-Sundays-are-Back

Arlington residents and business owners with feral cats roaming their properties may participate in upcoming Feral Cat Sunday events scheduled on Oct. 28, Nov. 4, Nov. 11 and Nov. 18, 2018.

These free clinic events for Arlington residents are made possible by grant funding from City of Arlington partner Best Friends Animal Society.

Each clinic will accept the first 20 feral/community cats to arrive in a trap or carrier between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on each scheduled Feral Cat Sunday event held at Arlington Animal Services, 1000 S.E. Green Oaks Boulevard. Return for pick-up is 4 p.m. Only the first 20 cats will be accepted. Kittens must be at least three (3) months old.

The clinics provide sterilization, rabies vaccination, and an ear-tip in an effort to increase the number of free-roaming community cats humanely trapped and given life-saving veterinary services in support of Arlington's Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) Program. These treated feral cats are released back into their neighborhoods to live out the remainder of their lives without reproducing offspring that may struggle to survive. Learn more about the TNR program by clicking here.

Help us reduce the number of stray cats in Arlington neighborhoods and business communities by participating in the TNR program. Special appreciation to Best Friends for helping Animal Services work towards the goal of fewer feral cats living perilous lives, and cleaner, healthier neighborhoods in The American Dream City.
