2nd Annual Arlington Musical Festival Set for Feb. 8-10 in Downtown

Nationally renown saxophonist Tom Braxton is among several performers lined up for the 2nd annual Arlington Music Festival in February.

The Arlington Music Hall, along with Jim Austin Online, will host the 2nd Annual Arlington Music Festival on February 8, 9 and 10, 2018 in Downtown Arlington.

This year's event features three jam-packed evenings of the best blues, jazz and R&B in the country.

The festival kicks off Thursday night with an evening of down home blues featuring national recording artist and American Idol alum Casey James.Also taking the stage is blues legend Ray Reedalong with Jim Suhler & Monkey Beat, Holland K. Smith, Ruben V and Dylan Bishop. Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams and his wife Karen will serve as the honorary hosts of the evening, which will benefit Fort Worth's Jubilee Theatre.

Friday night, it's all about the grown and sexy folks with an Evening of Romance. R&B Superstar Glenn Jones headlines an all-star night of smooth grooves! Attendees will also enjoy the mellow musings of Urban Mystic along with Ahyonz featuring Kenya C. and Nubia.The evening will benefit N.I.A. Kids Youth Service Incorporated, and Tarrant County Commission Pct. 2 Andy Nguyen and Julie Vu Nguyen will serve as honorary hosts.

Rounding out the weekend on Saturday is a night of Smooth Jazz with nationally renown saxophonist Kim Waters and Tom Braxton; local jazz artist John Giles, and Ahyonz featuring Kenya C. will return for a second night. The sultry sounds of these shining musical stars are the grand finale to this entertainment extravaganza.

“Last year, we were able to bring one night of some of the best blues and R&B to Arlington, and this year, we are excited to bring three nights of amazing entertainment to DFW, " said event promoter Jim Austin. "

Gerald and Candace Alley of Con-Real, LP will serve as honorary hosts of the evening, which will benefit the National Multicultural Western Heritage Museum.
