Mark Joeckel, Executive Director of Arlington Proud, is excited to announce the launch of a Mural Initiative for artists in The American Dream City.

Arlington Proud has partnered with Mission Arlington for its first mural that will feature images of the gas station owned by the father of Mission Arlington's Executive Director Tillie Burgin.

This wall is located at 404 W. Abram St. The building, owned by Mission Arlington, will serve as the first canvas of Arlington Proud's nine mural plan over the next 12 months.

Murals two and three will be in partnership with the River Legacy Living Science Center and will be located at N. Cooper St. and N. Fielder Rd.

The first mural will be 30 feet wide and 20 feet tall and the artist compensation will be $3,000. Paint and scaffolding will be provided.

Artists can submit their renderings for the first mural to Mark Joeckel and Arlington Proud until Thursday, October 15, 2015.

Submission evaluation will be based on how well the images integrate the historic Gulf station into the mural.
