Jim and Secret Kunkle will part with their hair for the second year in a row to make life more liveable for children battling pediatric cancer.

The Arlington couple participated in One Mission's Buzz Off for Kids with Cancer event last year and said they are looking forward to once again donating their time, money and hair to a life-changing effort.

"I have several friends and family that have been affected by cancer," said Secret Kunkle. "I saw a billboard about signing up for the Buzz Off and took it as a sign and it helped me decide to participate."

The couple have their own team, Team Texmont, for the event and their fundraising goal is $800.

"I try to talk about it with as many people as I can," said Kunkle. "Sometimes it's after the fact, after people have seen that you've done it, that they want to help out."

One Mission's 3rd Annual Buzz Off will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 24 at Globe Life Park in Arlington. All proceeds will be used to allow children with cancer to make the most out of their situations and enjoy activities with their families sponsored by One Mission. Events supported by the proceeds include holiday parties, art and craft events, and a special night out for patients and their families.

Shaved hair that meets eligibility requirements will be donated to Locks of Love, according to the charity's website.

Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez, 14-time All-Star baseball legend and Texas Rangers Hall of Famer, will act as the official ambassador for the event.

One Mission's goal is to raise $85,000 through the Arlington event. Buzz Off events will also be held at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA and Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA later this year.

Donations in support of individuals or teams participating in the Arlington event can be made online.
