Membership: Nine members: one licensed veterinarian; one City official other than an employee of the Department of Community Services; three citizens-at-large; one person whose duties include the daily operation of an animal shelter; and, one representative from an animal welfare organization.

Appointment: Mayor and City Council.

Term: Two years. The board is subject to the Term Limitation Policy.

Meetings: Once every month; time and place determined by the chairperson.

Function: State Law provides for the formation of an advisory committee to oversee the operations of an animal shelter in towns with populations in excess of 75,000.
