Six Arlington area high school students will receive savings bonds and scholarships from the Arlington Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration.

This week, judges selected three winners from approximately 450 pieces of art work. Judges also selected three winners from 23 essays submitted by high school seniors. The winning art work will appear on all materials that promote the Arlington Martin Luther King Jr. celebration. The winning essay will be read aloud during the Martin Luther King Jr. Sharing the Dream Banquet on Friday, Jan. 12, 2005.

The Arlington MLK Celebration Committee continues to plan the four-day observance, which includes a banquet, high school step show, multicultural festival, worship service and choir concert. For more information, call MLK Committee Chair James Rose at 817-459-7393.
