About the Planning Committee:

Since 1989, the Arlington Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee has been comprised of the following founding entities: City of Arlington, UT Arlington, Arlington Independent School District, Tarrant County College and Arlington Ministerial Association with generous support from many community contributors and volunteers. Every year, the chairmanship role rotates between the founding entities. This year, the Arlington Ministerial Association is proud to lead the planning of the four-day celebration. Vera McKissic, a senior pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Arlington, serves the 2017 MLK Celebration Committee Chair.

For more information about the four-day celebration, including interviews with participants and honorees, contact Arlington MLK Committee Publicist Cheryel Carpenter at 817-459-5384, 817-832-3470 or email [email protected].
