The Arlington Fire Department team’s mission is to meet and exceed our community’s needs and expectations by providing high quality emergency response, life safety and community support services.

Our Values

MalteseMembers of the Arlington Fire Department are:

  • Prepared for Duty
  • Serving with Honor
  • Responding with Compassion
  • Committed to Professional Excellence

Everything we do is associated with these four principles.

What do these statements mean?

Prepared for Duty – Means that our members will do everything possible to ensure that our “service” organization is at an optimum state of readiness when called upon to respond at a moment’s notice. Our team will be properly trained, equipped, supported and focused on safe immediate response and services.

Serving with Honor – This relates as to how we do business. We’re an organization of honorable people in an honorable profession. Our community can be assured that the Arlington Fire Department is a trusted and reliable team dedicated to “doing the right things right.” It’s not a catch phase, it’s the way we do business, it’s how we communicate and it’s how we relate with others in and outside our organization.

Responding with Compassion – Our Department is a people oriented service organization focused on helping those in need. In many cases we’re the only “safety net” or “option” a citizen may have when they’re in a desperate or hopeless situation. It’s our willingness to follow through on problem resolution that makes the difference here. Our words and actions show that we’re an organization that cares.

Committed to Professional Excellence – At the Arlington Fire Department we intend to “set the standard” in everything we do. We will provide our members with the means, skills and education to provide outstanding professional services. Our leaders and professional staff will do whatever is necessary to attain and provide exemplary services for the citizens and visitors of Arlington. It is our focus, it is our commitment.
