Rescue Readers special events are for youth ages 8-14 years, and are designed to help young readers feel more comfortable reading out loud, while allowing shelter pets some soothing company from human friends!

Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite books to read to the shelter pets, or choose from a variety of books at the shelter. Each child will read to their designated shelter pet for 20 minutes and parents or legal guardians are required to stay at the shelter during their child's reading time.

 The Rescue Readers events are held at the Animal Services Center at 1000 SE Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, TX 76018.
