Any Arlington junior or high school student can apply to be a Mayor's Youth Commission member. MYC looks for eager students who can attend a minimum of 8 meetings per year, participate in the events and volunteer opportunities.

MYC's goal is to have at least 3 students from each junior high, high school and private school in Arlington. As well as students who are home schooled.

We're accepting applications all year from motivated youth to step up and become leaders for the City of Arlington community. Members must be actively involved in meeting attendance and discussion, as well as volunteer and special events.

Becoming a Member

To be involved with the Mayor's Youth Commission you must complete an application. Give the commission a few weeks to review, vote and respond back to you regarding your application.

Apply Online - Applications will re-open April 30th for the ’24-’25 school year

Events

Each year MYC commits to working at least four service projects. Typically, the projects relate to a theme decided on by the youth members.

In addition to service projects, MYC members host several social events such as a social to welcome new members and an exciting holiday party.

MYC also hosts several fundraisers throughout the year to support volunteer projects and to create scholarships for events.
